lifestyle || 11 practical tips to improve your sleep schedule | how I wake up at 7:30 am every day
Getting on an early sleep schedule (that means waking up before noon!) is one of the first steps to creating structure for yourself if you’re home all day.
This Sunday, I’m bringing you a bullet journal spread with my TOP practical tips that you can do both BEFORE bed and in the MORNING. Let’s start this week on a ROLL!

I was always one of those kids (and adults) that hates going to sleep and would rather be awake all the time. Being awake is just so much more fun.
BUT I also know that waking up early and going to sleep at a reasonable time makes me HAPPY, ENERGIZED, ACTIVE, and able to do MORE with my day!
Waking up early has an allure to it – you’re up before most of the world is awake, you’ve got so much of the day yet to tackle, and you’re able to get some of those personal projects accomplished before you start your working day.
P.S. Save this post so you can come back to it later! You can also check it (and save it) directly on my Instagram page.

use your bullet journal to make a sleep schedule happen
First off, go check out my morning routine that I shared a few weeks ago. It works so well for me and it might inspire you, too!
Second, I recommend using your bullet journal to make this happen. Pick ONE thing at a time to work on, and write it down as a reminder to keep yourself accountable. Then, you can use your journal (or a pen and paper works fine, too) and do the following:
- make a plan of action to get your sleep tip incorporated into every day
- habit track your practical sleep tip
Let’s get into the tips!

nighttime tips
- Choose a realistic schedule – account for the amount of sleep you need and the things you want to accomplish before start work in the morning.
- Make slow changes – gradually push your bedtime earlier or later by 15 or 30 minutes.
- Get regular exercise – it will help you sleep better and use up your energy so you’re ready to sleep at a reasonable time.
- Eat and drink lightly before bed – eat only small meals near bedtime and avoid caffeine.
- Just get in bed – even if you cannot fall asleep early, just read or journal in bed to get in the habit of getting ready (no tech!)

morning tips
- Make yourself accountable – set up daily morning call with friend, or a goal to do something for an hour in the morning before you start working
- Create an exciting morning routine – have something you LOVE to look forward to (coffee, music, podcast, free time to paint, writing time, do your hair)
- Appreciate dawn – enjoy the rising sun and the awakening world in the mornings
- Plan your tasks – make a to-do list the night before or the morning of to get yourself organized and visualizing all your tasks
- Don’t snooze – going back to sleep is not an option. If you’re too tired, make it a goal to just go to sleep earlier today
- JUST start – even if you’re not fully into it (or awake), “NO magic & NO motivation is required to crush it daily.”
